160 years of Mississippi Gamma Tradition

Capital Campaign for Mississippi Gamma

As you reflect on your time at Ole Miss,

vivid memories emerge—walking through the Grove, the iconic lions marking the front steps of the SAE house, and the new pledge brothers who became your best friends. Since 1866, generations of men have proudly identified as brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Ole Miss, and the Mississippi Gamma Chapter House has served as a true home away from home during their college years.

In our pursuit of the ideals of the True Gentleman, SAE has shaped men of character while nurturing lifelong friendships. Within our home on Fraternity Row, generations of young men have matured socially, grown as leaders, and created unique experiences that shape their futures. The lessons learned within Mississippi Gamma have inspired strong leadership within our chapter, our communities and the business world. What was invaluable to our alumni remains equally vital for today’s brothers and those who will follow.

To carry on this proud tradition, we must join together and demonstrate our commitment to excellence by investing in a new house that fits the size, demands and priorities of the chapter as it is today.  As you cherish your Mississippi Gamma experience, remember that it was made possible by the alumni who came before you. Now, it is our turn to ensure that the next generation of brothers will have the same opportunity to create lasting memories and forge lifelong bonds within Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Ole Miss.

YOUR INVESTMENT | MISSISSIPPI GAMMA

Our alumni understand the value of Mississippi Gamma’s proud legacy—a place where brothers formed lifelong bonds, gained invaluable experiences and found a true home away from home at Ole Miss. The friendships and connections made within our chapter continue to shape lives long after graduation.

Mississippi Gamma has produced some of the top leaders in America in the fields of law, business, politics, journalism and literature. For nearly eight generations, we have upheld the tradition of being one of Ole Miss’s premier fraternities. Today, this tradition is continued by our undergraduate members—young men of character and potential - who are certainly worth investing in. Your support ensures that Mississippi Gamma remains strong for generations to come.

Staying Competitive in Today’s Environment

COMPETITION FOR MEMBERSHIP

For Mississippi Gamma to remain one of the premier fraternities at Ole Miss, we need to invest in a new chapter house that allows us to compete effectively with our peers. Other top fraternities—such as Sigma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Nu, and Kappa Alpha—have recently built or are in the process of constructing modern, state-of-the-art houses. These facilities not only offer their members safer and more functional living spaces but also provide a significant advantage in recruitment.

To continue attracting the best and brightest young men and to provide our brothers with the experiences and opportunities they deserve, Mississippi Gamma must take bold steps toward modernization. Constructing a new house is not merely an improvement - it is a necessity to ensure that our chapter remains competitive, relevant, and strong for generations to come.

THE OBJECTIVE

We are in the process of constructing the fourth house in the history of Mississippi Gamma. This new house will address the needs that have arisen from the growth of our current chapter. The existing house, which was opened in 1988, was designed to accommodate 100 members. Our new plans will safely and comfortably accommodate our current chapter size of nearly 250 members.

Our steering committee has collaborated closely with Pryor and Morrow Architects, as well as ICM Contractors, to design the new facility. We are excited to see the next generation of SAEs enjoy this house, just as past generations have enjoyed the three previous ones.

OUR PLAN

Construction will begin immediately after the conclusion of this academic year in May 2026 and is expected to be completed by Summer 2027.

WHAT MAKES OUR PLAN UNIQUE

Our three-story design will increase the occupancy level to house more than 70 members. The rear of the building will feature an exterior design capable of hosting over 1,000 attendees for fraternity parties, alumni events, and similar gatherings. The multipurpose areas, including the chapter room and dining room, will be able to serve over 200 people for meals and host more than 300 for chapter meetings. Currently, all chapter meetings are held off-campus due to space limitations in our existing house. As you know, we have the best location on Fraternity Row, and the new house will highlight SAE even more prominently in this prime location.

After the conclusion of the current academic year, construction will begin immediately on the new house. We anticipate the construction phase lasting 13 months which ensures the new house will be move in ready by July 2027.

Our construction and architectural teams have provided an all-in budget of $11 Million.
